Pride in Place

I have some fantastic news for our community I wanted to share.

After working with Government, I am delighted to have secured £20 million of long-term funding for Whipton and east Heavitree.

This is part of the Government’s Pride in Place programme, that awards long-term investment of £2m every year over the next ten years, dedicated to improving our community.

The most exciting thing about this programme is that people like you and the communities you live in will decide how it is spent – because you know best what your neighbourhood needs.

This investment will make a real difference. It could:

• Support projects that create jobs and opportunities locally

• Improve community facilities, youth services, health services, and green spaces

• Help make our streets safer, cleaner, and more welcoming

• Strengthen the organisations and groups that bring our community together

I fought hard to make sure Whipton and east Heavitree are included as one of only 284 communities across the country to benefit. I think this will make a transformational difference, and I’m proud to have delivered it.

This is our chance to shape a stronger, safer, fairer neighbourhood – together.
